The Home of the Mother is a new movement in the Universal Church that was founded in 1982. It began with the commitments of 6 girls (and soon after a group of boys) who wanted to lead a life of Christian virtue. The Home of the Mother has 3 missions in the Church: The Defense of the Eucharist, the Defense of the Honor of Our Mother, especially in the privilege of her Virginity, and the Conquest of the Youth for Jesus Christ.
In 1984, the Servant Sisters began with three of the founding members of the Home of the Mother. They felt called to a life of complete surrender to Jesus Christ and Our Blessed Mother, but from within the spirituality of the Home. Since then the Servant Sisters have grown—there are more than 100 sisters in 4 different countries.
The Servant Sisters came to the Assumption parish and school in 2006 to answer a need for religious sisters in Catholic schools. Here we help supplement religious education in the classrooms, plan school-wide retreat days and activities, and teach CCD classes. Outside of the school we also put on summer camps, retreats, pilgrimages, mission trips and other activities.
